Every summer the library offers a theme-based reading program to help motivate children and families to read during the summer.  Prizes and incentives are awarded to participants.  As part of the program the library will be hosting special events throughout the months of July and August including storytimes, craft programs and performers.  In collaboration with the Cortland Youth Bureau we have created the Arts, Parks and Books series that will showcase family friendly performing artists.  This year's theme is "Fizz, Boom, Read!"
